The match-tournament of generations "The Nutcracker" will be held from 3-10 March 2020 at the Botvinnik Central Chess Club in Moscow, Russia.
The Kings team will feature 2012 vice-champion of the world Boris Gelfand (Israel), current champion of Russia Yevgeny Tomashevsky (Russia), 2015 European champion Yevgeny Naer (Russia) and finalist of the 2000 world championship Alexei Shirov (Spain).
Leading young chess players of Russia will defend the honor of the Princes team: Alexei Sarana, Andrey Esipenko , Daniil Yuffa and Semyon Lomasov.
Tournaments are held according to the Scheveningen system in two circles. Each player of one team will play three games with each player of the other team: one in classic chess and two in rapid chess.
Classic chess: 2 points are awarded to a player for a victory, 1 point for a draw, and 0 points for a loss.
Rapid chess: for a victory, a player is awarded 1 point, for a draw - 0.5 points, for a loss - 0 points.
Time control: - Classic: 90 minutes for 40 moves, plus 30 minutes to the end of the game, plus 30 seconds increment starting from first move - Rapid: 15 minutes plus 10 seconds increment starting from first move.
