The 34th European Club Cup takes place from 12-18 October 2018 at the Porto Carras Grand Resort in Chalkidiki, Greece.
The annual tournament is a 7-round Swiss team event played with the standard time-control of 90 minutes for 40 moves plus 30 minutes till the end of the game, with a 30-second increment per move from move 1.
Standings are determined by Match points (2-1-0), while individual performance prizes are also on offer for each board.
The Open section is played on 6 boards (with up to 2 reserves) and consists of 63 teams and 448 players, including World Champion Magnus Carlsen and several other members of the world's elite.
