Tournament info

The Hoogeveen Open is taking place as part of the 22nd Hoogeveen Chess Festival that runs from 20-27 October 2018 in the Hoogeveen Town Hall in the Netherlands.

The 9-round open has a total prize fund of €10,000 with a €4,000 1st prize.

After the 7th round, the top 4 qualifies for the semi-finals and finals to decide the top prizes of the Open tournament.

The remaining players of the Open group will play a regular 8th and 9th round.

The time control is 90 minutes for 40 moves, then 30 minutes to the end of the game, with a 30-second increment from move 1.
