The 3rd Stars Cup is being held in the Anzali Free Zone, Iran, from 12-17 February 2019. The format is a Scheveningen System pitting four invited international grandmasters against seven of the best Iranian players.
Players receive 90 minutes for the first 40 moves followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game, with a 30-second increment per move starting from move one.
The event is organised by the Guilan Chess Association under the auspices of the Iranian Chess Federation.
