The Hoogeveen Chess Tournament will be held from Saturday 19th October through Saturday 26th October 2019.
The tournament consists of the Hoogeveen Matches, the Hoogeveen Open and two amateur tournaments. All tournaments will take place in the attractive town hall of Hoogeveen.
Hoogeveen Matches consists of 2 matches played over 6 rounds with a possible tiebreak, first one between Alireza Firouzja and Jorge Cori and the second one between Jan Timman and Zhansaya Abdumalik.
Time control: 40 moves in 90 minutes, 30 minutes extra time + an increment of 30 seconds per move starting from move 1.
