Tournament info

Satu Mare County is preparing to host a new strong chess tournament. After the Chess Festival in Satu Mare in July, we are changing the city, and between September 11-16 will be held the Tasnad Town Cup, an international tournament that reaches the 6th edition.

Unlike the mentioned festival, there will be one tournament in Tasnad with a total prize pool reaching 16,350 lei. Everything will take place in the Tasnad Spa Resort, in a pavilion in the Termal Spa.

There will be 9 rounds in the Swiss system, the duration of the game 2 x 1h 45min + 30 seconds bonus/move from the first move.

More than a week before the start, 37 chess players from Romania, Hungary, Ukraine, France, Moldova, India are registered on the official list.

For the time being, among others, two great masters, Aczel Gergely (Hungary) and Okhotnik Vladimir (France), respectively 8 international masters Mihnea Costachi (Iasi), Emil Mirzoev (Ukraine), Lucian Filip (Galati), Daniel Baratosi Arad), Dan Bogdan (Arad), Tamas Balla (Arad), Alin Ardeleanu (ACS Petra-Shah Satu Mare), Itkis Boris (Techirghiol).

Because it is a tour that has taken root, we present the winners of the first five editions:

- 2016: Andrei Cioară (Ploieşti)
