European Women Rapid & Blitz Chess Championship 2019 takes place from 29th November till 1st December in Monte-Carlo, Monaco.
The first on the schedule is European Women Blitz Chess Championship 2019 which will be played in Hotel Novotel.
91 players coming from 25 European federation will participate the Blitz event and the top seeds are: Kosteniuk Alexandra (RUS, 2521), Muzychuk Anna (UKR, 2504), Sebag marie (FRA, 2467), Stefanova Antoaneta (ECU, 2452), Nana Dzagnidze (GEO, 2432).
Among the participants of European Rapid & Blitz Chess Championship, #3 on the blitz starting list is Maia Chiburdanidze (GEO, 2497) who returns to an official Chess Championship 7 years after her last event, World Women’s Rapid & Bltiz in 2012! Simultaneously with the Championship, Chiburdanidze will be awarded for her achievements during the 1st European Golden Pawn Ceremony.
Time control: 3 minutes for the entire game, plus 2 seconds increment starting from first move.
The total prize fund of the blitz event will be 6.250 EUR, with 5.500 EUR for regular prizes, 500 EUR for special prizes, 150 EUR for PACA prizes and 100 EUR for Alpes Maritimes Prize.
