Tournament info
The 2020 U.S. Junior Championship is an elite national championship event, featuring 10 of the strongest chess players in America under the age of 20.
Over the course of 9 rounds, these competitors will battle for $20,600 in prize money and the title of 2020 U.S. Junior Chess Champion.
In addition to the prize fund, the sole first place winner of the Junior Championship will be awarded a $6,000 scholarship to be used at the institution of his or her choice. The scholarship is generously jointly funded by the Dewain Barber Foundation and US Chess.
Time control: 25 minutes for the entire game, plus 5 seconds increment per move starting from first move.
